New Oklahoma DUI Law – Felony Charges

Starting November 1, 2025, Oklahoma law expands when a DUI can be charged as a felony. Under the new rules, a DUI elevated to felony-level if it involves:

▪️A crash
▪️Driving with a minor in the vehicle
▪️Excessive speeding or reckless driving
▪️Eluding law enforcement
▪️Having a high blood alcohol concentration (0.15% or higher)
▪️Even first-time offenders could face serious jail time/fines

Remember: The safest choice is don’t drink and drive. Your choices behind the wheel affect not only your life but the lives of everyone on the road.

The Delco Commissioners approved a contract to hire Kenny Wright as an outside counsel for the sheriff’s office to help resolve a stalemate on raises within the office. Proposed raises for sheriff employees beginning on July 1 have not been approved by commissioners for more than 10 weeks, because commissioners are not convinced there are enough funds to cover the raises for the entire fiscal year. Sheriff James Beck says there is sufficient money for the raises.
