Julie Wortham grew up in southwest Oklahoma before heading to Kansas City, MO, where she attended Rockhurst University. She earned her Juris Doctor from Penn State Law and began her legal career in BigLaw in Philadelphia before moving to Florida.
Today, at Taylor Day Law, Julie focuses her practice on General Liability claims.

Q: How long have you been practicing law?
A: I have been practicing law since 2020.
Q: In your career, what do you consider your proudest moment/biggest win?
A: I don’t think my proudest moment can be reduced to a single result. For me, it’s less about one defining win and more about the accumulation of smaller moments when thorough preparation, persistence, and trust in my capabilities come together to achieve the right outcome for a client.
Q: When you’re not fighting for your clients’ best interests, where can we find you?
A: Usually with my dog, spending time with family and friends, or increasing the scope of a home project I confidently declared would be “simple.”
Q: If you weren’t an attorney, what would you be doing for a living?
A: I’d be an investigative journalist—asking too many questions, following every loose thread down the inevitable rabbit hole, and providing unsolicited comedic commentary along the way.
Q: What is #1 on your bucket list?
A: Write a book.
Q: Any tips for someone pursuing a career in law?
A: Learn the law, but also learn people. Ask questions, seek out good mentors, and don’t be afraid to admit when you don’t know something. But if I could offer only one piece of advice, it would be this: don’t lose yourself along the way. People often have preconceived ideas about what an attorney should look and sound like, but there is no single mold you must fit to be successful. You can master the law, learn the rules, and develop every skill the profession demands, but to be the strongest advocate for others, you must first have the confidence to advocate for yourself by staying true to who you are.
