A Jacksonville, Florida native, Ernie was born at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. As a small business owner, he has been involved in the real estate industry for almost 20 years as an investor, as well as a licensed building and roofing contractor. Ernie McKinney has a degree in Computer Networking Systems and Information Technology Management. He is happily married to his wife of over 20 years with whom he has 2 children. Ernie enjoys anything involving nature and the outdoors, being on the water and traveling with his family. Additionally, Ernie has been training in martial arts for 30 years and has earned Black Belts in 3 disciplines.

Big News! Another Milestone in My Real Estate Career!

I’m excited and proud to share that today, October 29, 2026, I officially PASSED the Florida Real Estate Broker State Exam!

This is a milestone I’ve been working toward, and I’m incredibly grateful to have reached it!

For me, real estate has always been about much more than buying and selling houses. It’s about building relationships, helping families make important decisions, protecting their interests, and guiding them through one of the largest financial transactions of their lives.

What’s October without a festive jack-o’-lantern? Use these tips to have a safe and fun carving experience:
1. Cut the hole in the bottom of your pumpkin instead of the top. This method not only makes the design of your pumpkin look cleaner, but also makes candle lighting so much easier!
2. Use a metal ice cream scoop to scrape out the seeds.
3. Rub some ground cinnamon inside your pumpkin. It will add a strong scent of the season to your pumpkin with its wonderful autumn-like smell. In addition, cinnamon will discourage critters like squirrels from feasting on your Halloween pride and joy!

This is the perfect make-ahead salad if you have a busy week coming up!
Ingredients:

Salad:
• Spring mix
• Handful of sliced strawberries
• Handful of red grapes
• ¼ c. walnuts
• ¼ c. dried cranberries
• ¼ c. feta cheese

Dressing:
• 3 tbsp lemon juice
• 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
• 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
• A pinch of salt

Instructions:
• Wash the spring mix, dry, and place in a bowl.
• Add the remaining salad ingredients to the bowl.
• Whisk dressing ingredients in a small bowl until thoroughly combined.
• Toss the salad and the dressing together, and serve immediately.

*If making ahead, add the dressing when ready to eat.
