Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage shown in the moments and days that followed.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the attacks, including first responders, service members, workers, travelers, and civilians whose lives were forever connected to that day. In the face of unimaginable tragedy, firefighters, police officers, emergency personnel, military members, volunteers, and ordinary citizens stepped forward to help others.
September 11 remains a powerful reminder of the importance of service, sacrifice, compassion, and unity. We remember those who never made it home, those who rushed toward danger to save others, and the families who continue to carry their memories forward.
May we continue to honor them not only through remembrance, but through the way we support one another and stand together as a community and as a nation.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
