Last week my client, Curtis Franklin, was finally released from the Duval County Jail after being in custody for over 1 year. It was truly an honor and a privilege to represent him. From the moment I met him at the jail until his eventual release, I knew he was innocent and urged the State to remove their tunnel vision. He was set up, but nobody believed him or me. After tirelessly trying to convince the State of the real truth, they were finally forced to drop the charges against him on the eve of trial after we uncovered more information proving his innocence. Although I am grateful beyond words that he is no longer in custody, he was in custody for far too long. Justice Delayed is Justice Denied.

Mr. Franklin is now back home with his family, including his young twin children. This is why I do this job, for all of the Defendants like Curtis Franklin. This is what true justice looks like, albeit delayed.
