One of the first steps to purchasing your first home is, knowing your credit. Anytime the lender begins to decide what you can buy and how much you can buy, it is all based on your credit. For this reason, most banks will want you to have a 620 or higher credit score. There are some things that will allow you to go lower. But many of them will require the 620 credit score. If you use this as a starting point, then you should be on your way.
