From Alexandria to Qatar, Washington, D.C., California, Munich, Sharjah and Cairo, Essraa Nawar has not simply traveled the world. She has lived across cultures, challenged narratives and learned how knowledge can either open doorsโor reinforce divides.
Her journey began at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, where she fell in love with libraries as places of access, exchange and possibility. Today, she is Assistant Dean for Library Engagement and Program Initiatives and Chair of the Library AI Committee at Chapman University.
But Essraaโs work reaches far beyond a title.
Her global leadership is backed by serious institutional depth: three masterโs degrees, an IFLA Fellowship, ongoing PhD work in strategic leadership, and service across cultural, social and interfaith boards. She is also a TEDx speaker, photographer and cultural storyteller who was recognized among Egyptโs top 30 women abroad.
Now she is bringing that global lens to ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐จ๐น๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ and the 2026 NAWRB Leadership Summit.
