Sometimes God calls you into something before you can see why. ❤️

When I got into real estate in my 40s, I truly felt called by God. I didn’t know exactly what He had planned. I just knew I was supposed to say yes.

When I started, I wanted to help everyone. I loved being needed and walking alongside people through one of the most emotional journeys of their lives. I answered my phone at all hours because I wanted my clients to know I was in this with them.

But somewhere along the way, I realized I was giving so much of myself to my clients that sometimes my family was getting what was left of me.

Learning to serve my clients well while protecting time for my family continues to be a boundary battle. Some days I get it right. Some days I don’t. There have been seasons when I’ve worked so hard that I’ve felt completely depleted.

And then there are clients like this one. 🤍

When I walked into her home, she didn’t just show me rooms. She shared the stories, memories, love, and life that happened within those walls.

And I understood.

We connected almost instantly, and I soon realized she was my sister in Christ. She heard me, appreciated me, and trusted me. The entire transaction just seemed to flow.

It reminded me once again that I didn’t make this career change on my own. God called me into it.

Before moving forward, we prayed over her home and placed it all at His feet.

And as He always does, He provided.

That’s why I chose “Counting My Blessings” by Seth Schlueter for this video.

When I look back, I have so much to be grateful for.

For the hard lessons.
For the boundaries I’m still learning.
For the clients who become more than clients.
For the stories I get to hear.
For the people God places in my path at exactly the right time.

And most of all, for knowing God knew exactly what He was doing when He called me to this.

I’m just grateful I said yes. 🙏🏻

The biggest mistake I see buyers make in Columbia, SC has nothing to do with the house they choose.

It is buying at the very top of what they are approved for, and then feeling stuck the moment life happens.

Here’s how to not go house poor 👇

Get pre-approved, then build your actual budget around what feels comfortable, not just what the bank says you qualify for.

Factor in property taxes, insurance, and maintenance, not just the mortgage payment.

Leave room for life, a new car, a vacation, an emergency, so your home does not become the thing you resent.

Talk to your agent honestly about your real comfort zone, not just your max approval.

A home should make your life BETTER, not tighter. Don’t become a slave to your home.
