Stat. § 995.22: November, the celebration of Thanksgiving is, by law, Wisc Family Month, the first 7 days are Wisc Family Week & the first Sunday of thatmonth is Family Sunday. Appropriate observances, ceremonies, and activities may be held to focus attention on the principles of family responsibility to spouses, children and parents and the stability of marriage and the home forour future well-being.

By MN law: "Holiday" includes:"Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday in November."

Also of law in MN, the governor shall proclaim one day in each year as a day of solemn and public thanksgiving to Almighty God for blessings to the people.

By WI law: The 4th Thursday in November shall be theday of celebration for Thanksgiving.

"Take a Kid Hunting Weekend"

Although it is not lawful for a "kid" to take a DEER without a license, Minn. Stat. Sec. 97A.455 permits an adult to hunt on one Saturday or Sunday (during small game season) for SMALL GAME without a license if accompanied by a child who is under the age of 16.

VOTE 2010: 11/2/2010 - MN and WI voting rights:

Minn. Stat. Sec. 204C.04: Every eligible voter has the right to be absent from work for the time necessary to vote on election day.

Wis. Stat. § 6.76.: Every eligible voter has the right to be absent from work (not to exceed three hours) to vote. The voter must notify their employer the day before the election if they will be absent.
