This month, I also had the honor of contributing an article to the Indianapolis Recorder titled "I Am Not My Hair..." https://lnkd.in/gQBEv6hx addressing the critical conversation around hair discrimination. This issue is more than aesthetic—it's a matter of identity, rights, and history, reflecting the lived experiences of Black women daily.

In line with our commitment to addressing these pivotal issues, Black Onyx Management, Inc. is proud to sponsor an event hosted by the Marion County Bar Association (MCBA). This gathering aims to shed light on the pervasive issue of hair discrimination and its legal and historical implications for Black women.

Being able to encourage, empower, inspire, and ignite one's greatness by assisting other women through adversities. Most importantly, cheering them on to reach their full potential is super gratifying and fills my cup."

Our approach is simple. We work with organizations that prioritize justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. Here’s where we step in:
1. Identify the business case for authentic JEDI
2. Set measurable, attainable, and intentional goals
3. Incorporate systems of accountability to stay focused

Human-centered approaches to diversity efforts leads to innovation, brand-awareness, financial gains and positive environments where everyone can be their full selves.

“Equity is a concept that says - if we are going to have the fair and just society that we idealize, we need to ensure we eliminate all barriers that prevent access and opportunity, especially for communities of color.”

Today I was at the Global Economic Summit of Indiana discussing how we make DEI a core function in our businesses and organizations. We are at such a pivotal time when we think about inclusive cultures and what it means to have DEI roles in our organization. For these roles to be successful they need resources and support from the bottom up. I don’t take my role or this platform for granted. Thank you for having me and elevating the conversation.
