RBE attorney Lindsay Llewellyn understands that receiving a Notice of Deposition can feel intimidating, particularly if you have never been through the process before. Being questioned under oath in a formal setting, often by an unfamiliar attorney, is not something most people encounter in their day-to-day lives. But while the setting may feel uncomfortable at first, a deposition is not something to fear. With the right preparation and a clear understanding of your role, it is a process you can navigate with confidence.

Read her tips on how to prepare to be deposed as a witness

At its core, a deposition is a formal question-and-answer session conducted under oath. Being well prepared and knowing what to expect are key!

Congratulations to RBE attorney Kathleen Hart who was recently recognized during the Assistance League of Indianapolis' annual "Mission Possible" spring fundraiser for her ongoing support.

On April 18th at the Mission Possible Spring Fundraiser, we had the honor of presenting TWO Star Awards in recognition of "major donors who provide sustained support over time and/or makes a donation of a significant amount".

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2026 STAR AWARD RECIPIENTS

Frank Short and Kathleen Hart

Frank Short is the Washington Township Trustee. The Trustees role is to provide services to those in need in the township, for food, clothing and housing. Assistance League is a partner for the Trustees office as we provide clothing through Operation School Bell and its various divisions, to school children who need our services. In order to support Assistance League in our mission, the Trustees office, under the guidance of Mr. Short, has awarded ALI significant financial grants. We are very grateful for the support provided by Mr. Short and the Washington Township Trustees office.

Kathleen Hart has been Assistance League’s legal advisor for 19 years. As our advisor she reviews: our governance bylaws and policies, the National Affiliation agreement, countless contracts from our programs with the school districts we serve, to fundraising events and everything in between. She has helped us navigate a tremendous number of legal topics through these 19 years. We were proud to honor her as our supporter, advisor and dear friend.

Assistance League was proud to honor Frank Short and Kathleen Hart as our 2026 Star Award Recipients.
