This Saturday, I will be joining the Health and Financial Wellness Ministry at Bethel AME Church for a conversation about wills, estate planning, and what families can do now to prepare for the future.

We are going to talk about the questions people really have.

What should I have in place?

How do I make my wishes clear?

Who can make decisions if I cannot?

How can I make things easier for my family someday?

You do not need to arrive knowing legal terminology.

Come with your questions. My job is to help make the answers easier to understand.

Some moments feel special when they happen. Others become part of your story forever. 💜

While attending the National Bar Association’s Annual Convention in Nashville, my mother, Sheila Norton, and I had the opportunity to meet Vice President Kamala Harris!

It was one of those big, meaningful moments in a week already filled with service, connection, leadership, and reflection!

I hope I always stop and remember...
We were there. We lived it. And we made a little history together.

I will always be grateful for the relationships, opportunities, and experiences the National Bar Association has brought into my life and career.

This one is definitely going in the memory book. 💜

The National Bar Association Convention gave me exactly what I needed... a chance to reconnect, recharge, and spend time with some truly incredible people.

I loved catching up with friends, meeting new attorneys, and being reminded how powerful it is to be in rooms filled with people who are committed to service, leadership, and advocacy.

Hearing from Vice President Kamala Harris was especially encouraging, and I am already looking forward to sharing more from that experience soon.

One of my favorite moments was getting to celebrate my friend Ashley Stepps as she received the 40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates Award. So well deserved, and I was so proud to be there cheering her on.

And of course, the Three Amigos had to make time for a little fun too. Nequosha Anderson, Ashley, and I managed to squeeze in a PJ Morton concert, see Chris Brown and Usher, and laugh our way through the GiGi Laflair comedy show.

Somehow, we also handled the business of the NBA, presented on four Real Property, Trusts & Estates CLE panels, and helped with plenty of behind-the-scenes logistics.

I am especially grateful to Immediate Past President Ashley Upkins for recommending me, supporting me in serving as Assistant Secretary for the past three years, and appointing me as CLE Chair for the NBA. I do not take that trust lightly.

It was a full, meaningful, energizing week.

And now?

I am going to take some time to rest. 😂💜

Healthy aging is about more than staying physically healthy.

It is also about protecting your independence.

Knowing who can step in if you need help.

Making sure someone you trust can handle financial or healthcare decisions if you cannot.

Keeping important information organized.

And having conversations now, while you still have the ability to make your own choices.

That is one of the reasons I think estate planning belongs in the conversation about healthy aging.

The goal is not to plan for the worst.

The goal is to make sure your wishes are clear, your family knows what to do, and you have as much control over your future as possible.

This Healthy Aging Month, take care of your future self too. 💜

🎓 Class "Forty Fine" has officially graduated!

I’m incredibly proud to have graduated from Class 49 of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, affectionately known as “Forty Fine” and, of course, the Best Class Ever! 😊

Our theme, Courageous Leadership. Collective Impact., is one I’ll carry with me long after graduation.

Leadership is not simply about having a title. It is about being willing to step forward, listen closely, make difficult decisions, and use your influence to make a meaningful difference for the people and communities around you.

I’m grateful for the conversations, relationships, perspectives, and challenges this experience brought, and especially thankful to our moderator, Dr. Sean Huddleston, for helping guide us through the journey.

To my fellow Forty Fine classmates, congratulations. I can’t wait to see how each of us continues putting courageous leadership into action throughout Indianapolis and beyond.

Here’s to what comes next. 💜

We are so proud to share that Jennifer Norton was named Board Member of the Year at the National Bar convention in Nashville, Tennessee. 💜

The award was presented by Immediate Past President Ashley Upkins, making the recognition especially meaningful.

For Jennifer, service has always been about more than the work happening inside the office. It is about showing up, contributing, listening, and helping strengthen the communities and organizations she is fortunate to be part of.

That same commitment carries into the work we do every day at Norton Estate Planning & Elder Law. We believe people deserve to feel heard, supported, and confident when making important decisions for themselves and their families.

We are incredibly proud of Jennifer for this well-deserved recognition and grateful for another reminder that meaningful service can make a lasting difference.

Congratulations, Jennifer!

Back-to-school season is a reminder of just how much moms carry.

You manage the schedules, the lunches, the homework, and all the little details that keep your family moving.

Estate planning is simply another part of that care.

If something unexpected happened, would the people you trust know what to do and have the authority to step in?

You already do so much to protect your family.

This is one more way to make sure they are taken care of. 💜

200+ Google reviews. That means more to us than you know. 💜

To everyone who has taken the time to leave a review, share your experience, or offer feedback to our team, thank you.

Your words do more than help someone else decide whether Norton Estate Planning & Elder Law Firm is the right place for their family. They also help us know that we are serving our community the way we intend to.

Every review is a reminder that the work matters.

That taking the time to listen matters.

That explaining things clearly matters.

That helping a family feel a little less overwhelmed and a little more confident matters.

Reaching more than 200 Google reviews is an incredible milestone, but what we are most grateful for is what those reviews represent: hundreds of families who trusted us to help during important moments in their lives.

Your feedback encourages our entire team to keep showing up, keep listening, keep improving, and keep doing everything we can to help families plan with clarity and confidence.

Thank you for trusting us, encouraging us, and allowing us to serve this community. We are incredibly grateful.

Your audience does not need another presentation full of legal jargon. They need answers they can actually use.

Jennifer Norton is available to speak with businesses, community organizations, professional groups, and educational audiences about the estate planning and elder law decisions families are facing right now.

Her presentations are practical, engaging, and built around real questions people have:

Do I need a will or a trust?
What happens if a parent suddenly needs care?
Who can make decisions if I cannot?
How does Medicaid planning fit into long-term care?
What mistakes can make probate harder for a family?
How do we plan for a loved one with special needs?

Jennifer has a gift for taking complicated legal topics and making them feel clear, approachable, and relevant to everyday life.

No lectures. No legalese. Just useful guidance, real-life examples, and conversations that leave people feeling more confident about what to do next.

If your organization is planning a seminar, employee event, community program, workshop, or educational gathering, bring Jennifer in for a conversation your audience will actually remember.
