Lewis Kappes is excited to announce that Grady Goranson has joined us as a law clerk in our Lending and Finance practice area while completing his final year of law school at IU McKinney.

Our Lending and Finance team works with banks, lenders, and businesses nationwide to facilitate loan closings, negotiate title insurance, analyze business transactions, and guide clients through every stage of the closing process. It’s back to the books for our summer law clerks, Hannah Levy and Tim Sullivan, as they return to law school to begin their third year.

Our Summer Associate Program gives law students the opportunity to gain hands-on legal experience, collaborate with our talented attorneys and staff, and experience our firm’s culture firsthand.

We’re thrilled that Hannah and Tim will continue working with us part-time during the academic year and have accepted offers to join us as Associates after graduation. We look forward to supporting their continued growth and celebrating the bright legal careers ahead of them!

Scott Oliver was recently featured in Forbes, where he shared his perspective on the current state of SBA lending and the evolving challenges facing America’s small businesses.

Drawing on his experience advising banks and non-bank lenders nationwide, Scott discussed the importance of distinguishing between fundamentally healthy businesses and those experiencing increased demand for working capital amid economic uncertainty. He also highlighted the continued strength and flexibility of SBA lending programs in helping eligible small businesses access the capital they need to adapt, invest, and grow.

Scott’s comments reflect the depth of Lewis Kappes’ SBA lending practice and the firm’s longstanding commitment to helping financial institutions structure compliant transactions while protecting the SBA guaranty.
