Why I started Your Home Guides
I would like to let you know about the Your Home Guides Group and thought you might be interested in learning why I decided to create this group and the Your Home Guides Services for consumers that wish to buy and/or sell their personal homes.
As a brief background on me, I have been active in residential real estate since finishing school as an agent, then property management consultant, broker in charge, and managing as many as 100 licensees. I am also a licensed real estate instructor and have owned and operated 2 real estate schools offering pre and post licensing courses as well as continuing education classes.
Being focused on consumer rights, I opened the first exclusive buyer agency in North Carolina in 1988 specializing in corporation relocations, with my primary focus being corporate relocations. Because of the practice of entering into real estate contracts with real estate firms to handle their corporate relocations (where the transferees were obligated to use these providers if they wanted their full relocation benefits), I sold my exclusive real estate firm to focus on consumer information and advocacy for those buying or selling their homes.
I created Your Home Guides, an interactive internet service whose sole purpose is to offer unbiased support, information and advocacy to the consumer. This service is provided free of charge as we are paid a referral fee by the real estate firm(s) that represents them.
Although our company advocates are licensed real estate brokers, we are not a substitute for the actual real estate representatives that our consumers have identified to represent them in the purchase and/or marketing of their personal residence.
