BREAKING 🚨 Our office today announced that after more than a year of investigation led by our team and the Kansas City Police Department, with the assistance of the Missouri Department of Revenue and the Leawood Kansas Police Department, a Grand Jury indicted a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, Corporal Charles “Nate” Bradley, on 13 charges stemming from the mishandling of evidence in criminal investigations and a corruption scheme involving towing companies in Kansas City.

Bradley faces 10 counts of Tampering with Physical Evidence, one count of Acceding to Corruption by a Public Servant, one count of Stealing, and one count of 1st Degree Property Damage.

It is our sworn duty to hold individuals accountable for causing harm to those in our community, no matter who they are or what position they hold. We do that objectively, without public pressure or fear of retribution.

When a law enforcement officer violates the law, it damages public trust and undermines the integrity of every officer who serves honorably. A badge is a symbol of responsibility and public trust, and when that trust is betrayed, there must be accountability. Today’s indictment makes clear that no one is above the law.

Happy retirement.

It’s the End of an Era. After 20 illustrious years at IPD, Officer Brian Flavin has retired. During his IPD career, Officer Flavin served 10 years in the Patrol Division and 10 years in the Special Operations Division with positions as a SWAT Operator, Sniper and in the Accident Investigation Unit. Flavin was also a member of the Honor Guard from 2006-2016.

During his career, Officer Flavin received:

-53 Letters of Appreciation/Recognition
-Two Lifesaving Awards
-the KMBZ Award for Valor
-Eight Metro Chiefs and Sheriff’s Association Awards to include the Silver Award for the water rescue of a juvenile who fell through the ice at Bass Pro pond in 2016
-Officer of the Month twice
-12 Citizen Commendations
-Special Unit Citation

Brian’s wife Jennifer will join him in retirement in May of 2026, and they will enjoy their time together here in the metro and at Table Rock Lake, until their son graduates high school.
