I've been MIA lately and quite far behind in updating my social media presence. I wanted to give you a sneak peak into why I've been absent for a bit. I've been enrolled in a consolidated program to become a certified practitioner in the Trager Approach to movement education.
I was introduced to Trager in massage school well over 10 years ago and I fell in love with it. I joke that Trager has been chasing me for the last 10 years and I finally decided to slow down long enough to let it catch me.
It usually takes about 3 years from start-to-finish to become a practitioner but I'm part of an inaugural test class in a consolidated program that condenses all of the learning and table work into a 6 month accelerated program of learning. It's intense and has taken every moment of my spare time but I'm so excited by what I'm learning and can't wait to bring this approach to the DC metro area. If you'd like to learn more, this is a good description of the approach. I'm currently doing free practice sessions as part of the requirements for my training. If you'd like to learn more and feel what this approach is all about, message me to schedule a session.
Trager Approach is based on the premise that discomfort, pain and reduced function are physical symptoms of accumulated tension that result from accidents, weak posture, fear, emotional blockages and daily stress.
