Mid-Kansas Home Sales Rose in February
Total home sales in the Mid-Kansas region rose by 5.6% last month to 75 units, compared to 71 units in February 2024. Total sales volume was $12.7 million, down 15.8% from a year earlier.
The median sale price in February was $137,000, down
from $175,000 a year earlier. Homes that sold in February were typically on the market for 28 days and sold for 98.5% of their list prices.
Mid-Kansas Active Listings Up at End of February
The total number of active listings in the Mid-Kansas region at the end of February was 261 units, up from 195 at the same point in 2024. This represents a 2.1 months' supply of homes available for sale. The median list price of homes on the market at the end of February was $212,500. During February, a total of 110 contracts were written down from 126 in February 2024. At the end of the month, there were 135 contracts still pending.

Prairie Land REALTORS hosted our annual awards banquet on Feb 13 at the McPherson Community Building. With more than 130 in attendance including REALTORS and affiliate members and their guests. Awards for production as well as REALTORS and Rookies of the Year were among the highlights. This year's event featured the music of local band Fallis/Stockholm Syndrome and food from Martenilli's Little Italy. Thank you sponsors for your wonderful support of the local real estate industry! The Awards of Excellence Gold level had 9 REALTORS in 2024 for doing more than $10 million in sales volume. A couple of the awardees were for land, but most sales were in the residential market. These agents keep busy all year. Their stats are shown in the image. Congratulations on a great year!

Awards of Excellence are awarded to member agents that excel in sales. In 2024 there were more than 20 agents at the Silver level for between $6 and $10 million in real estate sales volume and more than 30 agents at the Bronze level for between $3 million and $6 million in real estate sales volume. This means they did a lot of transactions in 2024! Great job! Awards were given out at our annual Awards Banquet last week.

Congratulations Jeannie Heinen on being awarded REALTOR of the Year for 2024 in the McPherson Council.
The Board of Directors is pleased to present the 2024 Realtor of the Year award for the McPherson Council to Jeannie Heinen from Sheets Adams REALTORS.
The 2024 Realtor of the Year award for McPherson Council goes to a REALTOR who has served their community, clients, fellow REALTORS, family, and friends with kindness for years!
She has been involved in their church, schools, and community organizations like the Chamber. She has racked up many stories of performing acts of kindness, support, cheer, and help for families and individuals in McPherson. She has a sincere care and concern for others.
Jeannie has been licensed for more than 30 years. And in that time has amassed more than 1000 transaction sides for easily over $200 million in volume but we don’t have records back that far to have a total. MLS records go to 2005 and since that time this agent has never sold less than $5 million in a year.
But more importantly, she has a vast knowledge of real estate rules and forms, and great attention to detail and deadlines. She is an excellent problem solver and the consummate professional in dealings with customers, clients, vendors, and the public.
Jeannie spent her past 30 year career with Four Seasons REALTORS, just recently moving to Sheet Adams REALTORS.
Jeannie served on the McPherson Board of REALTORS in varying capacities for many years. Since the merger Jeannie continued to plan, organize and sometimes star-in the annual McPherson Christmas luncheon which highlights her creativity, humor and organization.
Jeannie has attended many KAR conferences over the years as well. Jeannie won REALTOR of the Year of the McPherson Board of REALTORS 4 times prior to 2008. Her highest production year was 2012 with $15.2 million in 76 transaction sides. That’s amazing for being 14 years ago.

Congratulations Shirley Lebien of Coldwell Banker Americana on being award REALTOR of the Year for 2024 in the Reno Council.

The Board of Directors is pleased to present the 2024 Realtor of the Year award for the Reno Council to Shirley Lebien from Coldwell Banker Americana, REALTORS.
The 2024 Realtor of the Year award for Reno Council goes to a REALTOR who everyone speaks highly and thoughtfully of – their peers, their clients, service providers and the public. They have built a business on professionalism, kindness, and integrity.
She has been involved in the association and community for many years, including the animal shelter, domestic violence shelter and hospice. They have mentored many agents throughout the years, while building a business on referrals, repeat business and reputation.
Shirley has over $5 million in sales volume every year for more than 20 years. Since our records only go back to 2006 we don’t have complete numbers but can say they have been the agent on more than 900 transaction sides for more than $150 million in volume.
Shirley became a REALTOR in November 1982 and started her brokerage – Coldwell Banker Americana in 1997. This has been one of the largest offices in Hutchinson for more than 25 years. Shirley served as President of the Hutchinson Board of REALTORS in 2001 and won Realtor of the Year in 1992 and 2004. Shirley crossed the 40 years as a REALTOR mark in 2022, making her an emeritus member.
Shirley continues to list properties, help buyers find properties and mentor and manage more than 10 agents in her brokerage. She has a heart for animals and enjoys the company of her rescue dog. If you look at Shirley’s page you will see houses and dogs that need a home!
Shirley is assisted by her daughter Leslie as associate broker at Americana. One of her agents, Brenda King, said, “Shirley is the best of the best and Hutchinson is blessed to have her here.”

Mid-Kansas Home Sales Rose in October
Total home sales in the Mid-Kansas region rose by 17.6% last month to 120 units, compared to 102 units in October 2023. Total sales volume was $22.6 million, up 15.0% from a year earlier.
The median sale price in October was $149,450, down from $157,000 a year earlier. Homes that sold in October were typically on the market for 12 days and sold for 100.0% of their list prices.
Mid-Kansas Active Listings Up at End of October
The total number of active listings in the Mid-Kansas region at the end of October was 288 units, up from 258 at the same point in 2023. This represents a 2.4 months' supply of homes available for sale. The median list price of homes on the market at the end of October was $179,000.
During October, a total of 110 contracts were written down from 114 in October 2023. At the end of the month, there were 150 contracts still pending.
