Today we honor the memory of Paul LaRue Millirons, who passed away last Thursday at age 89. Forty-three years ago, Paul and his friends, Arthur Stephens and Bo Harrison founded our firm. Although its name has undergone several iterations over the years, Paul and Arthurโ€™s names - Stephens Millirons - have remained a constant for the life of the firm. We are proud to continue representing our clients with the diligence and zeal that Paul brought to the many cases he handled around the state.

Paul had an exceptional life. After graduating from the University of Alabama, Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country during the Korean war and afterwards reaching the rank of First Lieutenant. A life-long Alabama fan, Paul returned to the University of Alabama for his law degree. He excelled in law school, serving as an editor for the prestigious Alabama Law Review and a clerk for the Alabama Supreme Court Justice Warren Goodwyn. Six months after his graduation in 1958, Paul was appointed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney, in Montgomery and later Atlanta. In 1964, Paul moved to Huntsville, Alabama and joined the firm of Watts, Salmon, Roberts, and Stephens where he met Arthur and began the relationship that culminated in the creation of Stephens, Millirons and Harrison.

Paul was active in his community, particularly in his involvement in the state and national Republican party and his dedication to the Arc of Madison County and Early Works Museum. In his personal time, Paul enjoyed Alabama football, big game hunting in Alaska, fishing, skiing, and scuba diving.

Paul is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia Marshall Millirons, his children and step-children, Michele Millirons, Paula Koelle, Suzanne Pruitt, Larry Marshall, Jr., Lee Anne Madole, and Chris Marsh, 8 grand-children and 3 great-grandchildren.

We are honored to carry on Paulโ€™s outstanding legacy.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share with you that our longtime friend and employee, Lynne Eigenmann, passed away this weekend after a long and brave fight with cancer. We all loved Lynne dearly, and she was an invaluable part of the Stephens Millirons family. We will miss her laughter and loving personality. Please see below regarding arrangements:

"At 11:11 am on Saturday, January 27, Cynthia Lynne Eigenmann, 55, took her last breath at Huntsville Hospital. 11:11 is said to signify oneness, unity, and synchronicity. Lynne is one with her family who survive her: her daughter, Melissa Yes; her mother, Carolyn Klein; her brothers, Mark Klein and Phil Eigenmann; and her aunt, nieces, and nephews. She is one with her friends, colleagues, and tennis mates. She is one with the horses, dogs, and cats that she so dearly loved. Lynneโ€™s laugh and big grin, her warmth, and her giving spirit remain with all who knew her. Visitation will be at 3:30 pm Saturday, February 3 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alabama Wildlife Center at www.awrc.org. An additional note: the famliy invites people - if they care to do so - to write a note to (or about) Lynne. We will gather everyone's notes and bury them in her urn after spreading her ashes. They will remain private."
