We're so thankful for Angela Schaefer— partner at Loftin Holt Hall & Hargett LLP and one of the people who helps guide CornerStone from our Board of Directors.
Angela's first step into our work wasn't a board seat. It was a classroom. Back in 2018, before she ever served in our Jobs for Life program, she signed up for our Compassionate Service Training. Years later, she still names it as hugely impactful. In her words, the class "will open your eyes to assumptions you have about poverty and those walking through it that simply are not true or helpful."
That same class is open to anyone in our community — and we'd love to save you a seat.
Compassionate Service Training gently helps us set those incorrect assumptions down and step into relationships with open hands.

Congratulations to Angela Schaefer on graduating the Flagship Program (L-39) and Jordan Wagoner on graduating the Connect Program (C-28) through Leadership Greater Huntsville for the 2025–2026 year. Our team laced up early for a local 5K and later gathered in support of the Huntsville Museum of Art at its annual Huntsville Museum of Art Gala — a wonderful celebration of creativity and community impact.

Huntsville thrives because of organizations that educate, inspire, and bring people together. We are honored to support efforts that strengthen our city in every way.

It was a meaningful day — start to finish.

We are proud to share that Amanda Turnage serves on the Board of Free 2 Teach, an incredible Huntsville nonprofit dedicated to equipping public school teachers with the supplies they need to help students thrive.

free2teach supports more than 6,000 educators across Madison and Limestone Counties by operating a “free store” where teachers can access essential classroom materials at no cost. Their mission ensures underserved students have the tools for an excellent education — and we are honored to support that work.

This weekend, several of our attorneys (and one supportive spouse!) laced up their running shoes for a 5K benefiting this outstanding organization. 🏃‍♂️📚
