A little piece of Huntington history.
The First National Bank of Huntington opened in 1884, during a period when Huntington was quickly establishing itself as a center of business, commerce and industry.
Located along Third Avenue, the bank became part of the downtown landscape as the city continued to grow. By 1923, First National Bank reported more than $6.2 million in deposits, a reflection of Huntington’s growth as a center of business and industry during the era.
In 1925, First National Bank merged with Huntington National Bank to become First Huntington National Bank, beginning another chapter in Huntington’s history.
Pieces like this hanging in our office are a reminder of the generations of people, businesses and stories that built the Huntington community we know today.
We’re proud to call Huntington home and even prouder to serve the people who call it home, too.
