⚖️ Wednesday Win

The law often times is a zero-sum game (you won or you lost). And because of that, we often overlook what caused us to win (or lose).
Our client just had a great win on appeal, and while we of course are happy with the win caused by our advocacy, it makes you reflect back on how we got there.

This case was taken on by our office after the prior 2 attorneys had failed. We thoroughly reviewed the history of the foreclosure, and gave our client a clear strategy with defined steps. The trial court agreed with us, and then the appellate court affirmed the trial court last week.

It was a long road, but because we laid out our strategy, and the client backed our play, we got our desired result.

People contact us every day about foreclosure problems with their mortgage. Some have just missed a payment, while others are only days away from a foreclosure auction. Where someone is in the foreclosure process affects what we do to help them. But no matter the situation, there are steps we can take to protect their rights and try to save their home.

This case is a good example. The client came to us after missing a required court response in her foreclosure case, and the bank had already asked the court for permission to sell her home. We acted quickly and filed a request asking the court to undo that mistake and allow the client to defend the foreclosure.

After hearing both sides, the court agreed with us. The judge allowed the client to move forward with her foreclosure defense and scheduled a trial. This gives us more time to work toward a solution so this single mother can keep her home.
