Beginning January 1, 2027, if you're injured in an Uber or Lyft accident, your claim may be affected by new rules, including:

• Medical bills from lien-based providers are generally capped at the 70th percentile of FAIR Health rates in your area.
• Medical charges above that amount may not be recoverable—and may even be legally unenforceable.
• Medical liens must now include standardized, itemized billing.
• New restrictions prohibit attorneys from accepting kickbacks or referral fees from lien-based medical providers.

Pool Safety & Liability: What you should know.

More children ages 1-4 years die from drowning than any other cause of death. (source: CDC)

California law imposes a duty of care on property owners to maintain their premises in a reasonably safe condition. This includes swimming pools. The law also requires certain safety measures for pools, like adequate fencing and gates, to prevent accidental drownings, especially among children.
