Please don't use ChatGPT to write your will. 🚫

We know AI can do a lot. Drafting a legally valid Texas estate plan isn't one of them. Here's why:

1. AI doesn't know Texas-specific law. ⚠️
Estate law is state-specific. A will drafted for California may be invalid in Texas. AI will confidently give you the wrong template.

2. Wills require specific ex*****on formalities. ✍️
Texas requires two witnesses, specific signing procedures, and specific language. AI-drafted wills routinely miss or misformat these.

3. AI can't spot your unique situation. 🔍
Blended family? Business owner? Kids with special needs? Real estate in multiple states? AI defaults to generic.

4. AI hallucinates legal language. 🤖
It invents statutes, cites laws that don't exist, and uses terms that mean nothing in a Texas courtroom.

5. Your family pays the price. 💸
An invalid will often means the state decides who inherits. Fixing it in probate costs more than getting it right the first time.

If you own cryptocurrency, your estate plan has to answer three separate questions, and most standard wills don't. 🪙

1. Access — Can your family actually reach the crypto? Wallets, exchanges, seed phrases. If they can't find it, they can't inherit it.

2. Legal authority — Even with access, only a court-appointed executor has the legal right to move estate crypto. Having the password isn't the same as having the authority.

3. Ownership — Texas law decides who inherits. If you die without a will, the intestacy rules apply. Even if someone has your keys, that doesn't mean the law considers it theirs.

✅ An LLC
✅ For hardware or paper wallets, a safety deposit box with clear instructions in your estate plan

Probably not, unless you've been through Texas probate.

Our attorney Dylan breaks down one of the most confusing terms in Texas estate law, and one of the most useful when it applies.

Here's the gist: When someone dies with a valid will, and there's no debt to sort through or estate to actively manage, Texas has a shortcut. A Muniment of Title lets you admit the will to probate WITHOUT anyone being appointed as executor or administrator.

The court just signs an order confirming the will is valid.

That order becomes your legal authority to:
✔️ Transfer real estate
✔️ Deal with banks
✔️ Handle other entities that need proof

Faster. Cheaper. Less court oversight.
