Your summer parenting schedule is not a suggestion.
Summer should be a time for making memories with your children, not dealing with unnecessary conflict over a court-ordered schedule.
Unfortunately, problems can arise when:
• A parent refuses to follow the summer possession schedule
• Pickup or drop-off does not happen as ordered
• Vacation plans conflict with the court order
• Last-minute changes are made without agreement
• A parent is denied time with their children
If this is happening, keep a record of missed exchanges and relevant communication. Do not assume you have to continue dealing with the same issues without help.
Every situation is different. An attorney specializing in court order enforcement can review your situation and help you understand your legal options.
