What happens when BOTH drivers blame each other after a car accident?

That’s when I start digging deeper.

As the attorney, I don’t just accept either driver’s version of what happened. I investigate the facts.

🔎 I go to the accident scene to understand how the crash could have occurred.

📸 I review the property damage and compare the points of impact to each driver’s story. Does the physical damage actually make sense based on what they’re claiming happened?

📄 I look for other evidence that may help piece together the accident.

⚖️ And when necessary, I file a lawsuit and depose the other driver under oath, asking detailed questions, testing their version of events, and looking for inconsistencies or holes in their story.

When liability is disputed, the details matter.

That’s why it’s important to have an attorney who is willing to thoroughly investigate the facts instead of simply accepting the insurance company’s version of what happened.

If your child gets hurt at school, don’t automatically assume there’s nothing you can do. 🚨🏫

Here are 4 things every parent should know after a school injury:

1️⃣ Don’t assume the school can’t be held responsible. Whether you have a claim depends on how the injury happened, who was responsible, and whether it’s a public or private school.

2️⃣ Take photos and videos. Document your child’s injuries and, if possible, the area or condition that caused the injury.

3️⃣ Seek medical treatment. Your child’s health comes first. Medical records also document the injury and treatment needed.

4️⃣ Be careful what you sign. Before signing a release, settlement, or other paperwork related to the injury, consider speaking with an attorney about your child’s rights.

⚖️ Texas laws involving school injuries, especially public schools, can be complicated. The sooner you understand your options, the better.

POV: The insurance adjuster offers $15,000… and you’re trying to figure out where the rest of the zeros went. 😂💰

Because when the medical bills, injuries, pain, and impact on my client’s life say WAY MORE, we’re not just accepting the first number they throw out.

That $15K offer? Yeah… we need to talk. 📞😂

Insurance companies don’t determine what your case is worth just because they made an offer.

Can you sue a school if your child gets hurt? 🎒⚖️

In Texas, the answer is: it depends.

Public schools may be protected by governmental immunity, which can limit when and how they can be sued. But there are exceptions, especially in certain situations involving the use or operation of a motor vehicle, like a school bus. 🚌

Private schools are different and generally don’t have the same governmental immunity protections.

If your child is injured at school:
📸 Document what happened
🏥 Get appropriate medical care
📝 Keep copies of reports and communications
⚖️ Know your legal options before signing anything

Many personal injury settlements include confidentiality provisions, which means the parties agree not to disclose certain details. Sometimes, these details include the settlement amount. Every case is different, and not every settlement includes a confidentiality clause.

Last week I had to drive to Galveston for a status conference ⚖️

I live nowhere near Galveston, so it was about a 1 hour and 45 minute drive. But when it comes to my clients’ cases, I’m going.

A status conference is basically a check-in with the court. The judge makes sure the case is moving, deadlines are set, and everyone is on track for trial. We also entered a docket control order, which is the schedule that controls all the important deadlines leading up to trial.

We were given a trial date around Thanksgiving (which I did not love 😅), but it was the latest one available. Hopefully once the 2027 calendar opens, we can move it.

After that, I drove back and got right back to work.

A lot of people only see the settlements. They don’t see the drives, the hearings, the strategy, and the behind-the-scenes work that goes into it.

But this is what I do.
