You cannot, in civil court, sue a co-parent or a 3rd party (whether they are a party to a custody suit or not) for mental or emotional abuse of your child. Your only remedy is to spend thousands of dollars you don't have in family court trying to rescue your child(ren).
Yet, protective order courts and criminal courts can make orders denying a person of their constitutional right to raise their own children after the court hears perjurious statements from the abuser (judicial alienation). The system seems to be designed to aid an abuser to continue the abuse.
AND THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE. This is why I let my parental alienation victim clients pay my fees in small payments.
We need legislation that prevents judges from restricting a parents rights to their children when testimony is a persons only source of "evidence."

During my last year of law school, I was lucky enough to land 1 of only 5 prestigious juvenile law internship spots working under and supervised by Judge Devlin in his juvenile court.
It was great, and I learned so much from him both during my internship and later while practicing law in front of him as an attorney. He was a wonderful teacher and will be missed.
I just heard about his passing and are very sad about it.
Rest in Peace, judge. Thank you for the knowledge.

In observance of Parental Alienation Awareness Day (April 25th), I am giving FREE consultations all this month for victims of parental alienation. I'll be cutting my rates in half and offering low payment plans for victims. The 3 most severe cases I take on this month will receive my services pro-bono.
Let's join together to end this emotional and mental abuse inflicted upon children.
