Daragh Carter, Attorney

Daragh Carter, Attorney Representing injured people in the greater Houston area and throughout Texas. Hi! You can read plenty of reviews from my former clients on Google and avvo.com.

I'm Daragh Carter and I'm an attorney licensed in the State of Texas since 2005. 100% of my law practice is representing clients in personal injury cases. Now for the usual brags: I'm Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law. I have been voted a Top Lawyer for Personal Injury by Houstonia Magazine every years since 2013. I was voted a "Rising Star" by

Super Lawyers Magazine in 2014, and a Super Lawyer for personal injury in 2017. I graduated magna cm laude from University of Houston Law Center ranked 20th in a class of 380 students. How I earn my living: I represent people injured in motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-falls, work injuries, 18 wheeler accidents, drunk driving accidents, motorcycle wrecks, pedestrian accidents and more. I represent my clients on a contingency fee basis, which means I don't charge any up-front fees and I am only paid for representing a client if I am successful in getting my client a settlement or judgment for their injury claim. My job can be stressful and it has its challenges, but I genuinely enjoy what I do, I take it seriously and I try my best to see to it my clients are made whole.

Allstate mailed me a letter. They addressed it to "The Guardian of Pusch and Wynne Law Firm."

I don't work at that firm.

Having seen their billboards, I don't think that firm has a Guardian. I think they do whatever they want.

Come on Allstate, pull it together.

I'm involved in a couple of lawsuits currently where the defendant is pro se (representing themselves). The defendants' heavy use of Artificial Intelligence is quite apparent. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, I completely understand why a non-lawyer would use it as a resource. I use AI as a resource for certain tasks in my practice.

The interesting part to me was that some of the presumably AI-generated jury selection questions sounded extremely familiar, because I've been hearing them from defense attorneys for years, long before AI was a thing.

Questions like "Does anyone think the Plaintiff must have a good case just because it has made it to trial?" and "Is anyone not okay with writing in zero dollars for damages if the Plaintiff cannot prove they have been injured?"

Bruh.

Took a call yesterday from a lady calling on behalf of a family member badly hurt in an auto v bicycle crash. She described her family member as “quite old” and “elderly.”

“How old is he?”

“54.”

I go out of my way not to interrupt opposing counsel's questioning during a deposition, but had to make an exception when Salt Lick came up. Good memory. OC's first name is Amy, also my wife's name.

Tried about four times to get AI to recreate the "TOEFLOP" bridge graffiti at I-10 and TC Jester.

Repeatedly corrected AI on the spelling of my name.

Kept getting it wrong. Story of my life.

Yours Sincerely,
Daraggh

Just wrapped up a premises liability trial in Stephens County. The verdict did not go my client’s way, but how cool to try a case in my wife’s hometown. The courthouse turned 100 years old on the second to last day of trial.
