After several years of litigation, our firm got a near $300k judgment today for a commercial landlord against a commercial tenant who used a property for years without paying rent.

There should be penalties that consumers can obtain through a lawsuit for price gouging. Penalties exist under the DTPA (which I use frequently in my practice), but, under current law, those penalties can only be obtained in cases brought by the government.
