The difference a county makes.

It looks like I’m going to have to fight a little harder in Galveston County just to get a reasonable offer on a burglary of a vehicle charge— where my client didn’t even get into vehicle because the door was locked. He thought it was his car until his key didn’t work. Next thing he knows: warrant.

Had my first in person hearing today since the pandemic started over a year ago.

I resolved a $50,000 construction dispute today. My client got $50,000 today.

Giving him this check (and the settlement agreement it was paper clipped to) was one of the best feelings ever. I’ve been fighting for this client for months— nearly a year. The other side hired 3 law firms (over the course of time, not all at once, Jesus. I would have dropped the case, can’t pay me enough for that kind of headache. Well, I guess you could.) and we had to renegotiate every time. And each time, we settled for $50,000 because it was clearly a $50,000 problem. And we wouldn’t be moved.

Glad that’s over with. Hope you guys hire me if one of your projects go left. Filing a is one thing, getting your money without having to deal with on someone’s home and selling it and giving them the remainder back is a completely different story.

Holler if you need me, especially if you’re in . But I work in the surrounding areas too. And now that courts are using zoom for hearings, I’m considering widening my radius. Still limited to Texas though.

I’m only going to say this one time then I’ll be done with it. If you or anyone you love live in the Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte area, I HIGHLY recommend you go get a full check up done (with blood work and scans).

Don’t tell anyone you’re okay until you have a doctor willing to sign a written statement saying you’re okay. And if you’re not okay, come talk to me or hire another lawyer.

If you think I’m joking, google “Arkema chemical fire”. I know a person (and know of other people) still dealing with complications almost 2 years later. You don’t have to pay for corporate negligence.

Bought my first made-to-measure suit yesterday! Picked the fabric, the lapels, the buttons, the button stitching, the inner linings, the wool under the collar, number of pockets, belt loops, and so much more!!! Seriously felt like a king for a minute. Actually I felt like a king for an hour. Because it took forever, in a good way. Suit will be ready in 2 weeks! Big things are on the horizon at The Smotherman Law Firm!
