If you've found yourself unable to afford your mortgage payments, you're not alone. According to a Cotality 2025 home equity report, nearly 1.2 million U.S. homeowners were underwater on their mortgages by the end of the first quarter of the year. That’s an increase of 17% compared with the first quarter of 2024, and the number of residential properties that fell into negative equity increased by 172,000 homes.

A rare Blue Moon is on the way. 🌕

On the night of May 31, 2026, skywatchers will be treated to a special sight: the second full Moon in a single calendar month, known as a Blue Moon.

Despite its name, this Moon won’t actually appear blue. Its rarity comes from the calendar, not the color — and that’s exactly what makes it so memorable.

These unusual full Moons don’t come around often, which is why the phrase “once in a blue moon” has endured for generations.

Be Safe: Lightning Tips from the National Weather Service/NOAA

Lightning: What You Need to Know
• NO PLACE outside is safe when thunderstorms are in the area!!
• If you hear thunder, lightning is close enough to strike you.
• When you hear thunder, immediately move to safe shelter.
• Safe shelter is a substantial building or inside an enclosed, metal-topped vehicle.
• Stay in safe shelter at least 30 minutes after you hear the last clap of thunder.

Indoor Lightning Safety Tips
• Stay off corded phones, computers and other electrical equipment that put you in direct contact with electricity.
• Stay away from windows and doors, and stay off porches.
• Do not lie on concrete floors, and do not lean against concrete walls.
• Avoid plumbing, including sinks, baths, and faucets.

Last Resort Outdoor Risk Reduction Tips
NO PLACE outside is safe when lightning is in the area, but if you are caught outside with no shelter anywhere nearby the following actions may reduce your risk:
• Immediately get off elevated areas such as hills, mountain ridges or peaks.
