Monty & Ramirez LLP in the News | The Ortuño Family’s Story

The story of Marco Antonio Ortuño and his family continues to receive attention as they fight to remain together.

The Ortuño family has already endured an unimaginable loss. Their 15-year-old son, Sergio, a Milby High School student, was tragically killed by a train. Then, earlier this summer, Marco Antonio was detained by ICE for 42 days, leaving his family facing the possibility of another devastating separation.

Monty & Ramirez LLP Managing Partner Jacob M. Monty and attorney Veronica Franco Salazar are representing Marco Antonio pro bono as his immigration case continues.

The Houston Chronicle Editorial Board previously highlighted the family’s story and the extraordinary hardship they have endured. Now, KHOU 11 News is bringing additional attention to their case and the uncertainty the family continues to face.

For our firm, this case represents what pro bono service is supposed to mean: using our experience and resources to stand beside families when the stakes could not be higher.
