I've worked enough jobs in my life to know that when someone gets hurt at work, they're usually not thinking about which company owns the forklift.

They're thinking about whether they can finish the shift, whether they need a doctor, and whether they're going to miss a paycheck.

But warehouses can be complicated places. The person operating the equipment may work for one company, the forklift may belong to another, and a third company may be handling the loading operation.

Commercial insurance paperwork can look very official very quickly.

A letter arrives. Someone calls. There are forms, claim numbers, maybe even an early offer. And when you're already dealing with medical appointments, missed work, and a damaged vehicle, it's easy to assume the people sending all of that paperwork must already understand the full situation.

But that's the part I don't want people to assume.

The insurance company may know what happened to the vehicle. They may know what their insured reported. That doesn't necessarily mean they know what the accident has actually changed in your life.
