Congratulations again to our friend ! Today is the first day of the Oaxacan International Book Fair (FILO). She was given the honor of designing the logo for this year's fair! If you are in Oaxaca, go to her stand and check out her work, you have until October 22!

Don't forget to sign up for the drawing for a chance to win her Maiz, Calabaza, and Guías Bag. In honor of Monturqueza's tremendous achievement, we will be giving away two bags and extending the deadline and giveaway until Friday, October 20 so more people can enter the drawing!

Milpa Law was able to provide help and take part in life-changing events on this beautiful rainy morning! Attorney Stephanie Caballero of The Caballero Law Office called on Carlos to present motions to dismiss in two immigrations courts this morning. Due to the Stephanie’s astute legal pre-trial work, they were able to collectively obtain not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 5 deportation case dismissals!

While Milpa Law currently does not take on deportation defense cases, Carlos thanks Stephanie for entrusting him to handle this critical phase of the removal proceedings. Five lives are no longer subject to the fear of deportation!

The rules for the drawing are simple. Like Milpa Law’s page Milpa Law or Instagram profile and send me a message: “I want to enter the Monturqueza drawing!” The winner will be selected and announced on Monday October 16, 2023. *US only*

Monturqueza refers to this beautiful bag as “Maiz, Calabaza, and Guias”. Monturqueza’s work can be found all over Mexico. Currently, she designed the image of the Oaxaca International Book Fair (FIL) and can be seen all over Oaxaca.
