📄 When Does a Document Need an Apostille?
You’ve been told you need to send a birth certificate, marriage certificate, diploma, or other official document overseas.
Then someone tells you it needs an *apostille.*
A what?
An apostille is a special certification used to authenticate certain documents for use in another country. You may run into the requirement when getting married abroad, applying for dual citizenship, attending school overseas, handling international business, or dealing with foreign government agencies.
The important thing is that you don’t simply stick an apostille on any document and call it done. Where the document was issued and where it’s going both matter.
Texas Tower Passport & Visa Services can assist with apostille services and help take some of the mystery out of getting U.S. documents ready for use abroad.
Because sometimes the hardest part of international paperwork is figuring out what the paperwork actually wants from you.
