The water at Marine/Navy base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina was contaminated with toxic chemicals for three decades. The Camp Lejeune Act opens the way for those veterans and their families injured by it to sue for compensation. There have been a few news stores and more than a few advertisements about the Act. This article discusses what the Act does (opens the government to lawsuits in a small window of time) and what it doesn't do (no slush fund), and more importantly, how those lawsuits are likely to go and what it is likely to take to bring a successful lawsuit.
