This is an Sig P226 Legion, 9mm pistol that will fire with the safety engaged.

Today, during the inspection of a Sig P226 Legion, 9mm pistol, we were able to witness the weapon fire multiple times with a primed casing in chamber and with the safety “engaged”!

Our client was at a firing range, dropped the magazine after completing a course of fire, bent over to pick up the magazine, and the weapon fired into his right thigh, with the safety fully engaged, causing serious injury.

If you have an Sig P226 Legion at home, please be safe. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO AMMUNITION IN THE PISTOL, then check to ensure your safety is functioning as intended.

A shout out is in order for our associate attorney Mrs. Meredith Carpenter! Meredith is a two-time cancer survivor and has been advocating in both Montgomery and DC for years, and after all her hard work, Meredith will have her bill, SB177, become effective October 1st, 2026.
