Did you know Texas is a community property state? π
That means most assets acquired during marriage belong equally to both spouses β regardless of whose name is on the account or who earned the money.
There are exceptions: property owned before marriage, gifts, and inheritances remain separate property β but only if kept separate.
Never mix separate funds with community funds, or you risk losing that separate property protection. This matters enormously in divorce.
