A Mexican citizen taken into custody for allegedly driving without U.S. papers and transporting undocumented people was one of the first people to be arrested under Florida's controversial SB 1718, considered the most restrictive state law regarding migrants in the United States.

The man was charged with 5 counts of human smuggling because he had 5 other undocumented people in his vehicle. The charge of human smuggling is a felony carrying a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.

Please carefully consider whether travel to Florida is necessary.

SB 1718 is considered most restrictive immigration law in US

A federal judge in Texas has once again ruled that DACA is unlawful. At this time, current DACA recipients can continue to renew their DACA status, but there will be continue to be no approvals for new applicants until or unless a higher court rules otherwise.

If you are a current DACA recipient, please make sure you RENEW ON TIME! Contact an immigration attorney if you are not sure when you need to apply.

A federal judge ruled -- again -- that Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, is illegal, but he refrained from removing people from it

Did you know that certain non-citizen children are eligible for visas in the United States, and these visas make them eligible for work permits, drivers licenses, Lawful Permanent Residence (green cards), and ultimately citizenship?

If you know of a child in Alabama who is 18 or younger, please consult an immigration attorney to determine whether they are eligible to apply for a Special Immigrant Juvenile visa.
