☕ Start with coffee at Café La Fortuna, then spend a little time wandering through downtown Hinsdale.
🌿 Head to Fullersburg Woods for an afternoon walk and check out the newly restored Salt Creek. The recent restoration removed the 90-year-old Graue Mill dam, revitalized more than a mile of the creek, brought back native vegetation, and reopened the waterway for migrating fish and paddlers. It’s a pretty remarkable update to a place so many of us already love.
🥐 Something sweet from Toni Patisserie & Café never hurts. An afternoon pastry stop is always a good idea in my book.
🍣 Finish with dinner at Nabuki, and here’s a little local tip. If raw fish isn’t your thing, ask for the Joe’s Roll, a steak-based sushi option from the secret menu. It’s a great one to know about if you’d normally say sushi night isn’t for you.
🛍️ And save a little time for the shops downtown, including Meredith Jaye. If you love shopping local, mark Saturday, October 17 on your calendar for the Hinsdale Fall Sidewalk Sale.
This is one of my favorite parts of living and working in Hinsdale. The homes may bring people here, but it’s the little routines, local businesses, and familiar places that make you feel like you belong.
What’s one Hinsdale stop you’d add to my list?
