Here’s the truth… kitchens sell homes. A beautifully updated kitchen is not only going to elevate your enjoyment of and value of your home, it can completely change how buyers feel walking into a property — especially here in Bergen County NJ where luxury home buyers expect elevated finishes and move-in ready living.
And yes… sometimes the dream kitchen (& the marble countertops) really are worth it, especially when you know you’re going to be using it for a long time, whether planning to sell your home later or not. (And it doesn’t cost Anywhere near $1 million.) 🤍
— Should you remodel an entire kitchen just to sell your home? No. Invest in a kitchen remodel when you will have time to enjoy it because that’s part of your return on the investment.
— Should you make some updates to a kitchen before putting it on the market? That depends and sometimes the answer is Yes. Sometimes that looks like only new appliances, or just a new countertop, or painted cabinets, or updated light fixtures.
⚜️ EXAMPLE: For one of my Sellers, I recommended freshly painting the home interior in neutral colors, replacing their small laminate kitchen countertop, and updating only the k***s on the cabinet doors… that minimal $6,000 investment (which was paid at closing) netted them $50,000 more on their sale.
