It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the passing of our firmās founder, Laura Schantz.
As an attorney for more than 29 years, Laura was one of the most deeply respected and admired members of the Oregon family law community. Laura zealously served families and her community with compassion, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to helping othersāalways guided by her deep faith and love for God. Her impact can be seen in the countless families whose lives she touched and in the people that she mentored through some of the most difficult times in their lives.
For the last four years, Laura fought a brave battle against ovarian cancer. Throughout that journey, she showed us what it means to continue to love, explore, inspire, and live fully, even in the face of tremendous challenges. Her strength, faith, kindness, and joy will remain an inspiration to all who were witnesses to her courage.
Lauraās legacy also lives on in the family she created within her own law firm. After forming her own firm in 1999, Laura generously shared her knowledge, wisdom, and encouragement with multiple attorneys, paralegals, and paraprofessionals, helping them grow both personally and professionally. Although it is likely impossible to ever live up to the standard that she set, Lauraās influence is carried forward and reflected by the team that she created.
However, Lauraās greatest and most lasting legacy is her own familyāher children, grandchildren, stepchildren, husband, parents, siblings, and cousins, whom she loved so deeply. Our entire team extends our deepest condolences to Lauraās family. We will be forever grateful to them for sharing Laura with us and allowing us all to benefit from all of the wonderful things that she shared with the world.
