Back to back jury trials with one before Labor Day, and one after Labor Day. Thankful to clear the name of two different individuals. Not guilty to both.

Please be aware of two scams that seem to be gaining a lot of ground. One is that you have missed jury duty and you must pay money for contempt of court. While there are consequences for missing jury duty you will not be asked to pay $1000 to a third party!

The newest fraud that we have seen is that an interlock company will say you must install the device to be in compliance. They will set you an appointment and ask for $1 to secure your appointment. They now have your credit or debit card number. Ask your attorney! The interlock device is needed in only a specific set of circumstances and AFTER a conviction.

We have reported both of these to the fraud department of the Attorney General’s office. Please do the same if you are contacted by one of these fraudsters.
