Be Aware: Bike Riders Coming Through the City

We have just been informed that bike riders will be using FM 1197/N Bridge and then all of W. Spring to Hwy 148 N on Saturday. Please be aware that cones and barricades could be in place and be prepared to use a different route until bikers have passed.

Residents, drivers, and pedestrians are advised to use extra caution as riders participating in the Hotter Than Hell bike event make their way through our city streets. Increased bicycle traffic is expected along the route, and temporary delays or changes in traffic flow may occur.

Please:
Watch carefully for cyclists at intersections and crosswalks.
Slow down and allow riders plenty of space.
Do not pass bicycles too closely.
Be patient and follow directions from event staff and traffic officers.
Avoid distractions and remain alert for groups of riders traveling together.
Thank you for helping keep our cyclists, drivers, and pedestrians safe.

The fence pickets from the wooden park will be up at City Hall at 101 N Main starting tomorrow between the hours of 8-5 PM M-F. We are closed from 12-1 for lunch. Everyone has until September 11 at 5 PM to pick them up where they will be disposed of. If you cannot find yours, it is possible that over the years, it has been broken and damaged. Please come to City Hall and ask at the front desk. You will have to search for your own through the pile. Again deadline is September 11!

The City park is officially closed until further notice, please do not allow your children to go around the area, and the Sheriff's office will be patrolling extra during this time. .

REMINDER: If you have set up an automatic draft with us through your banking account for the 10th of each month, please DO NOT make a payment by any other means without giving us a 2 week notice. This way we can try and stop the draft on our end because it's possible that 2 payments for the same amount could apply and it then creates an over payment that we cannot refund back to you and the amount would just set as a credit for your next billing.
