We spent an hour teaching this to a room full of parents.

We talked about what really happens when someone dies without a plan.

How probate can delay families, cost money, and put important decisions in the hands of the court.

We talked about the government's default plan for your money, your home, and your family if you don't create your own.

But we didn't stop there.

We showed them how a trust can help avoid probate, protect their kids, and keep family wealth in the family for generations.

The goal isn't just to leave your kids an inheritance.

The goal is to leave them a plan.

❤️ Follow for simple estate planning tips that help you protect your kids, build generational wealth, and become a better adult.

Money is easy to spend.

Building wealth takes years.

Keeping wealth in the family takes a plan.

A trust doesn't just pass money from one generation to the next.

It helps protect it.

It can protect your kids from getting too much, too soon.

It can help protect family money from divorce, lawsuits, and bad financial decisions.

That's how you build generational wealth.

Not by leaving a bigger inheritance.

By leaving a smarter one.

The government is good at some things.
Roads. International diplomacy.

It is not good at dealing with individual families, their needs, their values, their assets.

The probate system is the government's estate plan for your family.

DON'T RELY ON IT! 🛑

Make your own estate plan that will actually save your family money and time when you die.

Dear Kids,

If you're reading this, the estate planning documents are in the green binder I showed you.

Everything you need is there.

Me and Dad tried our best to make this as easy as possible for you.

We left everything in a trust.

Not because we wanted to control you.

Because we wanted to protect you.

Your inheritance is held in a protected trust for your benefit. We didn't know what the future would bring, but we knew life can be unpredictable.

Divorce happens.
Businesses fail.
People make mistakes.
Bad seasons come and go.

We spent a lifetime building what we built, and we wanted to give you the best chance to keep it.

More importantly, we wanted you to have one less thing to worry about.

No court.
No confusion.
No guessing what we wanted.

Just a clear plan and a reminder that we loved you enough to think ahead.

We hope this gift gives you security, opportunity, and peace of mind.

And if you're ever wondering why we did all of this, the answer is simple:

We loved you.

Love,

Mom & Dad

One generation works for it.
Sacrifices for it.
Builds it slowly over decades.

The next generation can lose it surprisingly fast.

Not because they’re bad people.
Because most inheritances come with money… but no structure.

No protection.
No guidance.
No plan for timing, divorce, lawsuits, pressure, or bad decisions.

That’s why trust planning matters.

A trust doesn’t just pass money down.
It helps protect it long after you’re gone.

Because generational wealth only lasts when someone plans for the next generation — not just the transfer.

A lot of parents assume more money = more security.

But an inheritance, handed to someone too young and all at once, can create problems fast. 🫣

Pressure.
Bad decisions.
Manipulation.
Overspending.
Divorce exposure.

And honestly? Most 18-year-olds are still figuring out laundry and grocery shopping.

That’s why proper trust planning matters.

A trust lets you space inheritance out over time instead of handing over one lump sum. 💰

You can choose:
• when money is distributed
• how it’s protected
• what happens if your child is too young or vulnerable
• and how to support them without overwhelming them

The goal isn’t just to leave money behind.

It’s to leave stability.
Structure.
Protection.

Because sometimes “all at once” isn’t a blessing at all.

POV: the business owner is “off work” but still taking calls by the pool. ☀️📞

Honestly? That part is pretty normal.

You know what else is normal? Most business owners have zero succession planning in place.

No plan for:
• who takes over
• who can access accounts
• what happens to ownership
• how the business keeps running if something happens to them

A lot of entrepreneurs build businesses that support their families…
but never legally plan for what happens to the business for their families.

That’s not just business planning.
That’s estate planning too.

If you own a business, you need an estate plan so that business can be a blessing to your family when you die (and not a burden!)

Now if you’ll excuse me, I think he’s taking his 47th “quick call” of the day.
