I just wanted to get this out there now that tax season is right around the corner. I have had many people visit my office asking how do they know their tax preparer is legit and I always forward them to the irs.gov website. There is a directory of all credentialed tax preparers for your zip code. If they are not on the list I would suggest going with one of the credentialed preparers listed on their site. Those people listed spend many hours on continued education throughout the year and keep up to date with all the changes and laws. For true preparers it's not just a couple months and done it's creating the relationship with your clients and filing the most honest and accurate returns.
