Adding some new art from an old friend! This afternoon Rush Law Firm added artwork from Christy Meshel to its collection. Christy and Anna first met at Mississippi State and continued their friendship and education at Ole Miss. Christy is both an artist and an attorney, and we are in awe of her talent. This piece was recently featured as part of her solo Exhibit “Where are you from, from?” at the Arts Center of Mississippi. The catfish, a nod to her Mississippi roots, symbolizes sustainability and transformation. We hope that it brings the same in abundance for our clients. Thank you for sharing your talent in the arts and in the law, Christy Meshel !!!

Last night we got to celebrate our Emily Steele, a rising star at Rush Law Firm and in the community! Emily was named the 2026 Pearl River Community College Young Alumnus of the Year. Last night we attended PRCC Alumni Awards Gala, where she accepted her award and shared her experience at PRCC and her love for giving back to the community that helped shaped the woman she is today. We're so proud of what she's accomplished and can't wait to see what the future holds!

Our office will be closed on Good Friday, April 3, and the following Monday, April 6, to allow our team time off to travel and visit with family. Happy to bring some words of encouragement (and Loblolly king cakes) to the law students at Ole Miss who are interested in the solo and small practice life. Starting a small law practice in my hometown has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Solo and small practices help bring access to justice to every Mississippian. As we see young lawyers leave Mississippi upon graduation and senior attorneys retire and close up their practices, we need our best and brightest to stay in Mississippi more than ever. Even on the toughest days and most challenging cases, I can honestly say I've enjoyed every day learning and growing with Rush Law Firm!

As a Mississippi State Grad, I can't say H***y T***y- So, Cheers and Good Luck, Students!!!

Rhea Tannehill (Tannehill Carmean in Oxford), Anna Rush (Rush Law Firm in Hattiesburg), Matt Dalton (Stroud Flechas & Dalton in Olive Branch/Water Valley) and Laithan Simmerman (Taggart Law Group in Ocean Springs) discussed their experiences working in and starting small law firms, offering advice to students interested in following that path.

At Rush Law Firm, we’re constantly challenging ourselves to think of creative solutions. This week’s challenge was a New Yorker beginner-friendly crossword puzzle that took two coffee breaks and four collective degrees to complete, but we did it fam! And yes, we were bold enough to do it in pen. 😎
