Hicks Law Firm is proud to share a recent defense victory on behalf of the City of McComb.

The case arose from a crash in which a City of McComb police officer, responding to assist another officer during an emergency, entered an intersection against a red light with lights and siren activated and collided with the Plaintiffs’ vehicle.

Following a bench trial presented by attorney Clark Hicks, the Court found that the officer’s actions did not rise to the level of “reckless disregard,” and judgment was entered in favor of the City.

Friday, our firm celebrated Kathia Hicks's birthday with good food, homemade cookies, and great conversation!

For those who don’t know, Kathia is our office manager, and she is truly the heartbeat of our firm. Her dedication, organization, and genuine care for both our clients and our team keep everything running smoothly each day.

Kathia is married to our managing partner and owner, Clark Hicks, and together they have two wonderful sons, Harrison and Luke. We are so grateful for all that Kathia does—both professionally and personally—and we are blessed to have her as part of our firm family.

Yesterday evening, members of Hicks Law Firm participated in the Rotary Club of Hattiesburg-Sunrise’s 6th Gingerbread House Competition. Our staff (and Jessica’s son Warren) had a blast decorating their gingerbread house! Lots of laughs, memories, and messes were made!

This event is hosted by William Carey University, and is a fundraiser aimed at putting money back into our local community through “service projects.” The proceeds go to things such as funding the purchase of dictionaries for third-graders, Edwards Street Fellowship, Boy Scouts of America, Hope Clinic, University Baptist Basketball Court, etc. Our firm takes pride in our community, and we are honored to give back through fellowship and service to our great city of Hattiesburg!

Clark Hicks is the managing partner and owner of Hicks Law Firm, PLLC. He is a courtroom lawyer, handling civil lawsuits involving accidents or business disputes. Outside the courtroom, Clark is married to Kathia, his wife of 34 years, and proud father to Harrison and Luke. He’s a writer and author, a disc-golf enthusiast, an avid hunter, musician, vinyl record collector, and he enjoys cycling every chance he gets. Clark is an active member of University Baptist Church and the Sunrise Hattiesburg Rotary Club, and he loves investing in the community that has supported him throughout his career.

We are excited to announce that Jessica Latham has joined the firm.

Jess is a sharp paralegal who adds depth and skill to our law practice. With a law enforcement background, she brings unique and enhanced experience to our frequent defense of municipalities and police officers. With coffee as her daily companion, she is a tireless advocate for our clients.

Jess recently married Nic Latham, a fellow member of law enforcement, and is a proud mom to their precocious son, Warren. She is an avid reader and a graduate of Ole Miss but graciously accepts occasional office chants of SMTTT!

Last month, our Senior Paralegal, Jenny Ford, was nominated by our attorney Clark Hicks for Signature Magazine’s 2025 Class of In The Company of Women. As Clark said, “She found her calling and deserves recognition in the community which she calls home.” Join us in congratulating Jenny as the recipient of this wonderful award!

To put it into perspective as to what Jenny’s roles and responsibilities are, here’s a brief overview of what she brings to our team:

Jenny oversees the day-to-day operations of the civil litigation practice. She supervises staff, drafts pleadings and motions, prepares answers to discovery for attorney approval, compiles medical records and composes medical summaries, communicates with clients, facilitates case processing, and is the chief assistant at trials. Jenny has become an indispensable employee at the firm, through sheer determination, effort, and motivation. When she began years ago, she had no background in the law. But her intelligence, creativity, and desire to learn, along with commitment, all shaped her into who she is today. Jenny is tireless, energetic, and will always fight for the firm’s clients when needed. Our firm is better and stronger with Jenny leading the support staff charge!
