CALIFORNIA TELLS CITY IT COULD BE PROSECUTED FOR TRYING TO SAVE TRAFFICKED CHILDREN UNDER SANCTUARY LAW
Emily, an L.A. woman broke down the shocking case involving the City of El Cajon, California.
“California just told a city that they could be prosecuted for trying to save a trafficked child,” she said. “El Cajon gets a federal tip, potentially trafficked kids. Officers want to do a wellness check. And a council member has to sit there and tell them we can't! State law won't let us because of SB 54.”
She continued: “California's sanctuary law. The one Sacramento is super proud of. So El Cajon said enough and they sued the state, as they should.”
“What makes me furious about this,” she added, “the people who wrote this law said out loud that their goal was to let illegal immigrants live without fear of deportation. Those are their words. They put it in the legislative record. And then they made it a felony to cooperate with federal law enforcement.”
“They chose that over kids. Over trafficking victims. Over your safety and childrens' safety.”
She noted: “El Cajon is fighting this in court and they need people paying attention. Because if California wins, if a state can just opt out of federal law whenever it's convenient, we are in serious trouble. And the kids are in trouble.”
