La Unidad Latina, ΛΥΛ, Alpha Omicron - JMU

The Alpha Omicron Chapter of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated was founded in Spring of 2003. La Unidad Latina is a community service based fraternal organization that works to increase educational opportunities for underrepresented groups at colleges and universities across the nation. Hermanos of La Fraternidad approach this mission through direct community service

and campus programming initiatives, as well as cultivating leadership qualities in themselves and each other. As advocates for change, empowerment, and community service, we stay true to the organization’s mission:

*Provide Latino students with the academic, cultural, and social support necessary to excel in institutions of higher learning
*Increase opportunities for Latino children and adolescents to achieve in elementary and secondary schools
*Develop leaders that shall provide, develop, and implement the tools for community empowerment
*Inspire ethnic pride and cultural awareness in the Latino community
*Support the efforts to enhance the growth and well-being of the Latino community
*Collaborate with individuals, organizations, and institutions that will join our efforts to improve the conditions of the Latino community.
