We joined the United Way of Frederick County’s Day of Action on October 2, coming together with local businesses and community members to give back to the Frederick community.

Our team volunteered for fall cleanup at Platoon Pastures, a wellness center offering programs for healing and connection for veterans, operated by Platoon 22. We also supported the event’s donation drive benefiting Beyond Shelter Frederick, which collected essential supplies for individuals and families in need.

Thank you to United Way of Frederick County, Platoon 22, and everyone who helped make this year’s Day of Action a meaningful opportunity to give back!

Congratulations to Sarah Hyser-Staub on being sworn in as president-elect of the Middle District of Pennsylvania Chapter of the Federal Bar Association!

Sarah will begin her term as president in 2027. Previously, she served as vice president of the chapter and has been actively involved in its programming and initiatives. As president-elect, she will continue her involvement with the chapter before serving as its next president.

Sound financial management helps municipalities in south central Pennsylvania plan for their needs, manage resources, and carry out the services their communities rely on.

Marita Kelley of Keystone Municipal Solutions (KMS), a McNees ancillary business, will cover the fundamentals of local government finance in the second module of the Capital Region Council of Governments (CapCOG) Municipal Academy on Tuesday, October 20.

Attendees will learn more about:

In a recent Fifth Circuit decision involving Starbucks, the court guided how context, operational explanations, and discussions of union activity can affect whether employer communications are considered coercive.

Employee influencers can give companies an authentic voice on social media, but they can also create legal and compliance risks employers may not anticipate.

In his recent article, employment attorney Adam Santucci explains what employers should consider before asking employees to promote company products or services through their personal social media accounts.

Key points from the article include:
🔹Employees promoting their employer’s products or services may need to disclose their employment relationship
🔹Content created by non-exempt employees outside regular working hours may raise wage and hour considerations
🔹Employers should address who owns employee-created content and how it can be used after employment ends
